1. GS1® Trademark & Non-Affiliation Disclaimer
GS1®, GTIN®, and GS1 Digital Link are registered trademarks of GS1 AISBL (Global Standards 1). GTIN Router and Sunrise27.com are independent software infrastructure platforms developed to resolve standard GS1 2D Digital Link URIs. GTIN Router is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially certified by GS1 AISBL or any local GS1 member organization.
2. Content Neutrality & Third-Party Redirect Immunity
GTIN Router acts strictly as a passive, automated technical routing conduit. Customer organizations retain 100% legal responsibility for all destination URLs, product metadata, allergen declarations, Certificate of Analysis (COA) lab results, recall notices, and regulatory disclosures configured within the service. GTIN Router does not independently audit, verify, or endorse third-party content. Customers agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GTIN Router from any third-party claims arising from destination URLs or product packaging claims.
3. Limitation of Liability & Indirect Loss Exclusion
Direct POS Register Parsing: Modern retail Point-of-Sale (POS) image scanners are designed to parse the 14-digit GTIN directly from the GS1 Digital Link URI string (/01/00012345678905) at local checkout registers without requiring active HTTP network resolution to cloud servers.
Disclaimer of Consequential Damages: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GTIN ROUTER AND ITS SUPPLIERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOST RETAIL CHECKOUT SALES, REGISTER DOWNTIME, STORE PENALTIES, OR PACKAGING RE-PRINT COSTS) ARISING FROM SERVER UNAVAILABILITY, NETWORK LATENCY, OR ROUTING DELAYS.
Aggregate Cap:IN NO EVENT SHALL GTIN ROUTER'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY YOU TO GTIN ROUTER IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
4. Regulated Industries (Cannabis, Food, Wine & Pharma)
Brands utilizing GTIN Router for state-regulated track-and-trace (e.g. Metrc cannabis lab COAs), EU Digital Product Passports (ESPR), FDA FSMA 204 produce traceability, or FDA DSCSA pharmaceutical serialization are solely responsible for ensuring that all destination links comply with applicable federal, state, and international statutes. GTIN Router does not guarantee regulatory approval or legal compliance of customer packaging.
5. Service Availability & Modifications
While GTIN Router target routing is hosted across multi-region edge infrastructure targeting 99.9% uptime, services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
6. Mandatory Pre-Print Verification & Scannability Disclaimer
Customer Duty to Pre-Test Proofs: CUSTOMERS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING, PROOFING, AND PHYSICAL SCAN TESTING ALL 1D BARCODES (UPC/EAN) AND 2D BARCODES (GS1 2D QR / DATAMATRIX SYMBOLS) WITH PHYSICAL OPTICAL SCANNERS PRIOR TO COMMERCIAL PRINT RUNS OR PACKAGING MANUFACTURE.
Scannability Variables Disclaimer:Barcode scannability at retail registers depends on numerous physical printing variables beyond GTIN Router's control, including substrate reflectivity, ink bleed, press resolution (DPI), print contrast ratios, scaling, and Quiet Zone (margin) clearances.
Reprint & Product Recall Exemption: GTIN ROUTER DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY FOR PRINTING COSTS, PACKAGING REPRINTS, PRODUCT RECALLS, RETAIL CHARGEBACK FINES, OR SCRAPPED INVENTORY RESULTING FROM UNSCANNABLE, MISPRINTED, OR INCORRECTLY SIZED BARCODES.
